The
name "Due Mori" is typical of historical hotels
in the Veneto Region and it is inspired to the animated
bronze statues of the two mores (Due Mori) placed on
the Clock Tower in Saint Mark square in Venice which
ring the hours on the bell of the Tower. Hotel Due Mori
is Vicenza most ancient guest house and its façade
was planned in 1854 by architect Antonio Caregaro Negrin
(1821-1898) who belonged to the Eclettism current. The
hotel, completely restored in 2002 according to its
old tradition, counts thirty bedrooms, all arranged
in their own style with pieces of furniture from the
end of the 19th century and from Art Nouveau Style period.
Of the thirty rooms twenty-seven have a private bathroom
and three cheaper rooms have an on the floor shared
bathroom. Two of the twenty-seven bedrooms with private
bathroom are equipped to host disabled people. As a
style choice no rooms are equipped with a television
(there is one in the main lobby). The building has a
lift. Groups not larger than 30 people are
wellcome as well as guests who are accompanied by their
Pets. |
